World Twenty20 champions India were brought back down to earth as a depleted Australia side posted 307 for seven in the first one-day international in Bangalore.
Michael Clarke was the backbone of the innings with 130 off 132 balls and Brad Haddin contributed 69, but Australia did not have it all their own way. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth claimed three wickets as the tourists were 90 for four before Clarke and Haddin came together to forge a partnership of 144 which set them on their way.
