Valerie Mulcahy (Cork) 2-1 vs Mayo

Cork's Valerie Mulcahy hit the net twice as her side claimed the TG4 senior football championship in Croke Park last Sunday.

The Cork forward from the Rockban club "red home a penalty just before the half-time break to give the Rebelettes a six-point lead at the interval. Shortly after the restart Mulcahy broke clear and drilled a sweet shot past Mayo keeper Yvonne Byrne to seal the victory for Cork. The championship's leading scorer, Cora Staunton scored 1-2 on the day while Fiona McHale also netted late on for the Westerners. Both Geraldine O'Flynn and Amanda Murphy scored three points from play for Cork.
