It is great to see dedicated clubmen strike gold and so it was at Ballyliffin at the weekend as long-serving greens convenor Patsy Doherty won the Past Captains' Prize on Saturday and made it a double by winning the Carlin McLaughlin Prize on Sunday. Reports are that he was set to lap the field on Sunday with his 40 points but may have been inhibited somewhat by the fact that one of his playing companions was handicap convenor Colm O'Kane.
Meanwhile, the club is set to debate the virtues of an irrigation system again on 7 October having voted at a recent EGM not to invest.
