Puttin'on the Ritz with Dubai's The Villa development
Tomas Irish

THE now infamous Hotel Ritz in Paris was the setting for Dubai Properties launch of the latest phase of their successful The Villa development. Attended by Mohammed Al Fayed and with guests including Diana's stepmother Countess Raine Spencer, the properties were initially exclusively available at Harrods in London, and on general sale since 17 September.

The Villa development is located in Dubailand, the ambitious leisure, tourism and entertainment park.

Available residences are four-, five- and six-bed Spanish styled courtyard villas, with terraces that offer views of the surrounding lush landscape and waterways. This gated development continues Dubai Properties' aim of creating communities with all of their properties. Amenities such as shops, restaurants, and pools are located within close proximity, while maintaining a tranquil distance from the city.

There are 219 units available, ranging from 6,000sq m to 14,000sq m, with prices from 1m to 2.2m. In addition to this, Dubai Properties also offers 210 smaller two-, threeand four-bed luxury villas in their Al Waha development, also located in Dubailand. All of these residences will offer one or two parking spaces, terraces and balconies, as well as a community swimming pool, within a setting of lush greenery located on the edge of the desert.

Dubai Properties CEO, Mohamed Binbrek, emphasised that his company is the only developer in Dubai offering this sort of luxury, community-based villa development to a high standard in the Emirate. In addition, he underlined the current strength of the Euro as a particular boon to potential Irish buyers looking at investing in Dubai. Aer Lingus has been offering a regular service to the Emirate since March 2006.
