CELEBRITYPSYCHE

FAMOUS people have a lot of loose-lipped friends, you may have noticed. "A source close to the star" invariably pops up to add his or her insightful two cents when the chips are down. There's probably not a tremendous amount celebs can do about a frenemy on a tabloid's payroll; it's their own flesh and blood that they need to keep a tighter rein on. If they're clearly doing it for funds (Kerry Katona's mum flogging her "My daughter is a coke fiend and unfit mother" story to News of the Wo r ld ), it's far nobler than the family members doing it to boost their own profiles.

Angelina Jolie's brother, James Haven, doesn't know when to shut up. Best known for his inappropriate snog with his sis at the Oscars, he likes to volunteer his thoughts on everything from Ange's weight loss and future adoptions. He's in the latest issue of Marie Claire talking once again about the siblings estrangement from their father Jon Voight. Cue, Voight right back at him, talking 'exclusively' to Life and Stylemagazine, saying "I find it heartbreaking that my children want to paint a bad guy portrait of me."

How about that troubled but immensely talented singer Mitch Winehouse?

No, wait, that's actually Amy.

Mitch is her cabbie dad who has taken it upon himself to comment on her downward spiral on a daily basis at least. "I know the newspapers have obituaries ready for people . . . well, I'd written one, " he said this week, commenting for the millionth time on Amy's OD.

Lindsay Lohan's parents, Dina and Michael, do not communicate either with her or each other except through the international press and surely, you're gagging to know what Britney's aunt, Chanda McGovern's thoughts on her niece's custody loss are? Of course you do. "You just want to hug her and tell her you love her. It's almost like it's a nightmare and we want her to wake up from it, " says Chandra. Call us old school but we like our celebrity's relatives to keep quiet and stay in the background.

Except of course for Justin Timberlake's granny. From defending the size of his manhood to talking about how Cameron Diaz wasn't right for him, this is one 70-year-old, we'd like to sit and chew the cud with.
