9 January 2000: Darren Carey (19), shot and dumped in the Grand Canal in Co Meath. He was a suspected drugs courier. No conviction.

10 January 2000: Patrick Murray (20), found dead in the Grand Canal in Karneystown, Co Meath. He was a suspected drugs courier for a major gang. No conviction.

26 February 2000: Joseph Foran (38), shot dead in Finglas in a gangland killing. No conviction.

29 April 2000: Patrick Neville (31), shot dead in Inchicore as part of an INLA feud. No conviction.

30 April 2000: Thomas Byrne (41), shot dead outside a pub in central Dublin on the orders of an IRA godfather. No conviction.

13 May 2000: Drug dealer Derek Benson (33), shot dead in Ballymun as part of a feud. Jacqueline Noble and Paul Hopkins serving life sentences.

19 June 2000: Billy Power (29), died after being shot at a Limerick building site along with two of his friends. No conviction.

28 July 2000: publican Stephen Connolly (26), shot dead in Dundalk after refusing to pay INLA protection money. No conviction.

19 August 2000: Nicky O'Hare (35), shot dead in Dundalk by the INLA. O'Hare in charge of gang extorting cash from Stephen Connolly. No conviction.

12 November 2000: Well-known Limerick criminal Eddie Ryan (40), shot dead in Moose bar. First killing in ongoing Limerick feud. Paul Coffey serving 15 years for manslaughter.

14 November 2000: Francis Fitzgerald (26), shot dead through the bedroom window of his home in Cabra by Dublin criminal gang. No conviction.

9 February 2002: HaulierKieran Smyth (39), shot dead by the Real IRA near Ashbourne, Co Meath. No conviction.

7 June 2001: Kieran O'Flynn (39), shot outside his home in Thorndale, Co Cork. His murder was drugs-related. No conviction.

14 July 2001: Gangland figure Seamus 'Shavo' Hogan (40), shot dead by the IRA in Crumlin. He was a close associate of the 'The General' Martin Cahill. No conviction.

24 August 2001: Michael Rosney (25), shot dead after a house party in Belmont, Co Offaly. Oliver Coleman serving 12 years for manslaughter.

30 August 2001: Deirdre Crowley (6), shot dead by her father Christopher in Clonmel, Co Tipperary before he turned the gun on himself. No conviction.

8 October 2001: Geraldine Kissane (23), murdered by her boyfriend in Shannon, Co Clare, before he turned the gun on himself. No conviction.

21 November 2001: Gerard Fitzgerald (48), shot dead in Finglas by a north Dublin criminal gang. No conviction.

9 March 2002: Publican Mossie Curran (50), shot dead at his pub in Clashmore, Co Waterford. Declan Power serving life sentence.

28 April 2002: Gangland figureMaurice 'Bo Bo' Ward (56), shot dead at his home in Ronanstown, west Dublin. No conviction.

22 May 2002: Derek Lodge (26), shot outside his parents house in Crumlin. His murder part of a drugs feud between two local gangs. No conviction.

16 June 2002: Stephen O'Hara (24), shot dead by a local drug dealer in Clonsilla, west Dublin. No conviction.

16 July 2002: Joseph Rattigan (18), murdered outside his home in Crumlin as part of local drug feud. No conviction.

7 October 2002: John Butler (20), from Cork city shot dead as he walked home with his girlfriend after a night out. No conviction.

25 November 2002: Stephen Byrne (39), from Inchicore shot and dumped in a forest near Tallaght in a gangland murder.

23 January 2003: Taxi driver and crime figure Niall Mulvihill (57), shot dead in central Dublin as he drove his car. No conviction.

28 January 2003: Raymond Salinger (40), died after a gangland attack while he sat drinking with friends in a pub on New Street, in Dublin's south city centre. No conviction.

29 January 2003: Kieran Keane (42), shot in the back of the head in murder linked to Limerick drugs feud. Five men serving life sentences.

14 February 2003: Cliona Magner (19), murdered by her boyfriend on St Valentine's Day before he shot himself. No conviction.

12 March 2003: IRA member Keith Rodgers (24), shot three times in the chest after confrontation in border village of Cullaville, Co Louth. No conviction.

24 March 2003: Charles Merriman (26), found close to Dublin Airport after being shot once in the back of the head execution-style. No conviction.

5 April 2003: Declan Grif"n (32), murdered by a hitman as he drank at a pub in Kilmainham. No conviction.

12 April 2003: Paul Ryan (27), shot dead in Coolderry, Co Offaly. He was originally from Raheny in Dublin and fell foul of a Dublin drugs gang. No conviction.

19 April 2003: Michael Scott (25), shot dead when two men burst into his flat in Ballymun, north Dublin. His death is linked to a personal dispute. No conviction.

6 May 2003: Robert Fitzgerald (23), shot in the head as he left a party in Moyross, Limerick. No conviction.

14 June 2003: INLA member Ronald Draper (25), shot dead as he worked as a doorman at Charlie P's pub in Eden Quay, Dublin. No conviction.

19 June 2003: Willie O'Regan (34), shot dead at his house in Cabra. He was a well-known criminal. No conviction.

7 July 2003: John Ryan (47), shot dead as he carried out work on a house in Thomondgate, Limerick. His murder linked to ongoing Limerick feud. No conviction.

8 July 2003: David McGuinness (35), was shot three times after he opened the front door of his home in Tallaght. He was not a major gangland figure. No conviction.

4 August 2003: Thomas Canavan (36), shot dead as he drank in Cleary's pub on Sarsfield Road, Inchicore. He was killed as part of a personal dispute. No conviction.

17 August 2003: Bernard Sugg (23), a leading member of the infamous 'Westies' criminal gang, shot dead as he drank in the Brookwood Inn, Corduff. No conviction.

9 October 2003: Peter Sheridan (27), was shot three times and dumped in a field at Scribblestown Lane near Finglas. He was murdered by a drug dealer. No conviction.

20 October 2003: Michael Campbell McNamara (23), murdered as part of the ongoing Limerick gang feud. No conviction.

11 November 2003: Jason Tolan (24), died after being shot in the leg in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. He was an associate of the Westies gang. Thomas Murphy serving eight-year sentence for manslaughter.

2004 . . . 9 killings

1 February 2004: Kenneth Byrne (30), shot dead gangland-style in Dolphin's Barn. He was a convicted armed robber. No conviction.

25 February 2004: Paul Warren (23), shot dead in the toilet of a pub in Newmarket Square in Dublin's city centre. Murder linked to Crumlin feud. No conviction.

7 March 2004: Brendan Cox (40), murdered in a gangland assassination in Ballyfermot, south Dublin. No conviction.

3 April 2004: grandmother Joan Casey (64), shot dead at her Tallaght home. She was not the intended target of the gunman. Timothy Rattigan serving life sentence for murder.

17 April 2004: Jonathan O'Reilly (24), shot dead outside Cloverhill Prison in a gangland attack. Thomas Hinchon and Brian Kenny serving life sentence for murder.

14 May 2004: Former Limerick councillor Michael Kelly (48), shot at his house in Southill, Co Limerick. He died four weeks later. No conviction.

13 June 2004: Stephen Carey (23) shot dead in Moyross, Limerick, after a row broke out earlier in the day. His murder was not gang-related. James Keane serving life sentence.

14 October 2004: John 'Frog' Ward (43) shot dead while in the process of burgling a house in Cross, Co Mayo. Conviction overturned.

21 November 2004: Paul Cunningham (23), shot dead in his mother's home in Blanchardstown as part of a gangland feud. No conviction.

2005 . . . 21 killings

9 March 2005: Cecelia Bailey (54), shot dead at her home in Achonry, Co Sligo. Her husband also died from shotgun injuries. No conviction.

9 March 2005: John Roche (24), shot dead outside his apartment in Kilmainham. His murder is linked to the feud between two Crumlin/Drimnagh drugs gangs. No conviction.

3 April 2005: Champion kickboxer Jimmy Curran (42), shot dead as he drank in the Green Lizard pub in Dublin's south inner city. Bernard Dempsey serving life sentence for murder.

11 April 2005: Joseph Rafferty (29), gunned down as he left his apartment at Ongar, Clonee. He was shot as a result of a personal dispute. No conviction.

14 April, 2005: Terence Dunleavy (27), shot in the head at Croke Villas, Ballybough. His murder also linked to Crumlin/ Drimnagh feud. No conviction.

28 April 2006: Hughie McGinley (26), murdered in Sligo town as a result of a personal dispute. No conviction.

31 April 2005: Notorious drug dealerAndrew 'Madser' Glennon (30), shot dead in Blanchardstown after going to meet associates. No conviction.

5 May 2005: Mark Byrne (31), shot down just minutes after being released from Mountjoy Prison. He was killed over a personal grudge. No conviction.

14 May 2005: Martin Kenny (22), shot dead at his girlfriend's home in Ballyfermot. It is suspected he was killed after agreeing to store drugs for a major dealer. No conviction.

27 May 2005: Anthony Creed (36), shot dead at his home in Clondalkin. He was associated with drug dealers. No conviction.

10 August 2005: Vincent O'Brien (53), shot dead in Bray over a personal dispute. No conviction.

13 August 2005: Eric Cummins (29), shot dead in Ballincollig, Co Cork. He was involved in the drugs trade. No conviction.

18 August 2005: Gang member Andrew Dillon (28), found shot dead in a ditch in Finglas. No conviction.

3 September 2005: James Healy (30), shot dead at his farm in Coolyhune, Co Carlow, after a dispute about land. No conviction.

7 September 2005: Drug dealer Mark Glennon (32), murdered in the driveway of his home in Blanchardstown by a rival gang. No conviction.

28 October 2005: David Nunan (25), murdered in Southill, Co Limerick in a gangland attack. No conviction.

4 November 2005: Drug dealer Owen McCarthy (22), found dead in the Wicklow mountains after being murdered over a dispute with a major drug dealer. No conviction.

5 March 2006: Mother of one Donna Cleary (22), shot dead while she attended a house party in Coolock, north Dublin. No conviction.

10 March 2006: drug dealer Shay Bradley (27), found shot dead in a land at Blackhorse Avenue near Cabra. No conviction.

2 April 2006: Eoin Cahill (25) shot dead after a house party in Clonmel, Co Tipperary. Leigh Crowe serving life sentence.

4 April 2006: Former Sinn Fein official and spy Denis Donaldson (55) murdered at his remote cottage in the Glenties, Co Donegal. No conviction.

8 May 2006: Lee Kinsella (30), shot dead at his home in Finglas. He was murdered as a result of a long-running feud. No conviction.

10 May 2005: Aidan Kelly (19), shot dead in Moyross, Co Limerick. His killing was gang-related. No conviction.

2 February 2007: Settled Traveller Thomas McDonagh (28), shot dead by a lone gunman outside his house in Clondalkin. His murder was drug-related. No conviction.

15 March 2007: Gangland figureRobbie O'Hanlon (25) gunned down as he played a football match in Clondalkin. No conviction.

22 March 2007: Drug dealer Roy Coddington (36), lured to a beach at Mornington, Co Meath, where he was shot dead. No conviction.

6 April 2007: Paul Kelly (26), a petty criminal from Gardiner Street, Dublin, shot dead at his sister's apartment in Clontarf.
