THE fare on offer today at Galway and Wexford is modest enough, particularly at the latter venue. Racing at Galway is a mixture of flat and NH action and the Grade 3 Hartmann Jewellers Ballybrit Novice Chase is sure to generate a certain amount of interest. Drunken Disorderly made his first start for trainer Charlie Swan a successful one when opening his account over fences at Listowel in impressive fashion. Formerly trained by David Wachman, he won't be short of support here but Leonard Whitmore's good servant Wishwillow Lord may represent better value.
Total Victory, who turned in a nice performance at Tipperary last time, has his first start for Colm Murphy in the www. galwaynews. ie Handicap Hurdle. The Tony Mullinstrained Bye The Best holds more appeal, however. His stable-companion Massey Shaw has a good chance of completing a double for the trainer in the TV O'Brien Memorial (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race. The lightly-raced Trikirk, from the Michael Grassick stable, has had his share of training problems in the past but bids to make up for lost time in the Renvyle House Hotel Handicap. The six-year-old turned in a satisfactory effort on his first outing for more than 16 months when fourth to Via Mantua at Gowran Park.
Meanwhile at Wexford, the best bet of the day may be the Joe Crowley-trained Good Harvest who carries the hopes of race sponsor JP McManus in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
Hucklebuck, who was just touched off by Crooked Street at Cork last week, can go one better in the Wexford Block Ltd Maiden Hurdle.
