THE ART OF SHOPPING
Window displays are a form of art in themselves. Colin Davidson's new exhibition takes that idea to another level in Window Shopping. It's a collection of observations of window contents and street scenes, from Next on Oxford Street to Dublin's O'Connell Street on a Saturday afternoon. Bold and very beautiful, check it out at the Solomon Gallery, Powerscourt Townhouse, South William Street, Dublin 2, 4-20 November.

TAKE A BOW AT THE TROC
No other restaurant enjoys the same connection with Irish theatre as Trocadero and now a new book has been published celebrating the Dublin institution's 50th anniversary.
Curtain Call is a collection of over 50 images of Irish thespians, from the walls of the Troc, with reflections from many of the actors themselves.
Brenda Fricker, Rosaleen Linehan, Niamh Cusack and John Kavanagh are just some of the contributors and as well as being a tribute to these theatrical talents, the book is also for a good cause . . . all profits from the sales go directly to the Irish Cancer Society's night nursing service.
Get it at Easons and other bookstores, at Trocadero itself (4 St Andrew Street, Dublin 2) or online at www. trocadero. ie and www. cancer. ie, price 25.
