Mel Coyne, owner and buyer at Butik, originally got the idea for such a trendinspired boutique from her frequent visits to New York.

"It's an independent shop.

We try to offer something different. We resource labels that aren't widely available and once something becomes widely available we tend to drop it so that we stay on top ofwhat's fresh and trendy" Coyne explains.

Butik offers Irish fashion lovers a trendy taste of global fashion.

From Australian brands White Suede & Alice McCall to London's Belle & Bounty, Butik prides itself in offering cutting edge designs guaranteed to dazzle on any occasion.

"We stock Malena Birger, which is a very big collection.

The beauty of it is that everyone can buy it differently. You can put your own twist on it and can personalise it to suit your own style, " Coyne adds.

Butik tends to appeal to special occasions such as wedding wear, and has even won 'best dressed' on more than one occasion at the Punchestown races. The brands carried even appeal to the celebrity world with the LA designs of T-bags and YanaK being worn by Paris Hilton.

This season Butik are advocating deep purples mixed with a little black, while hot pink is making an impression too.
