SENIOR doctors have raised concerns about the deaths of a number of patients at a main hospital, the Sunday Tribune has learned.

The queries about the deaths at Cavan General Hospital are being looked at as part of a risk management process put in place by the North Eastern Health Board.

The board said that one doctor had raised some concerns which were being looked at as part of an on-going risk management review. The board said that the concerns related to "five procedures". It declined to comment about whether the review involved looking at the deaths of patients.
