It's one of the most exciting collaborations in music, and it continues to deliver. As Four Tet, Hebden is an electronic music near-genius, and Steve Reid is one of the most notable jazz drummers ever, when they come together, it's usually quite dazzling. This is a homage to Reid's home city of New York, with Hebden attempting to channel the metropolis's endless energy by building whirling sounds around Reid's framework of organic beats. There are just six tracks here; the opener 'Lyman Place' almost takes off with a jet engine crescendo, before sliding into the calmer '1st & 1st'. While not as instantly exciting as 'The Exchange Sessions', there's still an enjoyable flow.
