Childhood friends Cormac Woods and Michael Grehan are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their business partnership. Originally partners in Dali's, the Blackrock restaurant that functions as a canteen for well-heeled locals, who use it for business as well as pleasure, the pair have branched out into the interiors – and exteriors – business with Eden, a treasure trove of good things for the home and garden. The large shop, situated opposite the front steps of Blackrock Church, is bursting with new stock, including pieces from the Danish Day Birger et Mikkleson Home range, of which Eden is the exclusive Irish stockist. There are soft furnishings in hand-dyed silks in subtle paisleys, cushioned teapot warmers with handles that are just perfect for bringing out into the garden for a cuppa on a crisp afternoon (very popular in Scandinavia, by all accounts), and a selection of decorative silver and birdcages. There are stylish sofas from Belgian label Dodo and UK-based PF (for whose super-comfy deep sofa in heavy rose linen I know just the perfect place), and statement pieces from Andrew Martin and Spanish label, Becara (their huge mock croc trunk is a best-seller as a coffee table). The pair also offer a highly personalised interior design service. With paintings by the popular local artist Laura Cronin (who just happens to be married to Michael) and a range of giftware that feels fresh and new – think stationery from San Francisco's Cavallini & Co, laundry products to keep your cashmere in tip-top condition from New York's The Laundress, slice-shaped pizza plates (€15) for Joeys everywhere, blackboard clocks from Black & Blum, and planted hyacinths that any teacher would be delighted with – plus a great selection of Christmas decorations (we love the selection of Sarah Palin memorial mooseheads from €39 to €110), Eden could just be the elusive one-stop shop.

Tribune onliners, November months review about Eden Home & Garden does not paint an accurate picture of how FAB this shop is. No surprice that I saw many men shopping the day I was there. Great to see a shop that is no longer LADIES ONLY. Big applause to Mic and Mac for this inspiring and tempting grove of goodies.
