Rob kearney 8
Got into the game from the first whistle with great catch and was solid under the high ball all evening. Will spend the summer in South Africa.
tOMMY BOWE 7
Combined brilliantly with Kearney in lead up to Heaslip's try and his magnificent tackle on Chabal just before the break showed his commitment.
bRIAN O'DRISCOLL 8.5
So the captaincy is a burden! Brilliant tackle on Beauxis set the tone and his try was out of the top drawer. Critics will be dining on humble pie with their bacon this morning.
pADDY WALLACE 5.5
Shocking pass to Kearney halted Ireland's first real attack of the day. Suffered a nasty facial cut early on but jury still out. D'Arcy's try won't help his cause...
LUKE FITZGERALD 6
Did not get much opportunity or ball to show his speed
but never sherked the tackle. His brilliant tackle on Heymans resulted in decisive late penalty for Ireland.
RONAN O'GARA 7.5
Controlled the game at will. Super pass allowed Heaslip cut through the French defence for his try but guilty of some loose kicking. Will be disappointed to miss two kicks at goal.
TOMÁS O'LEARY 6.5
Showed great calmness under pressure but kicked way too many, and often too long, box kicks. Obviously playing to instructions. Bravery never called into question.
Marcus horan 6.5
The 'Grizzly Adams' lookalike had one of his quieter days in the loose while wearing the green shirt but still held his own in the scrum.
jerry flannery 6
Got the better in the 'Battle of the peroxide blonds' before forced off with injury shortly after half-time. Will be disappointed not to be on the pitch at the end.
john hayes 6.5
Winning his 90th cap the Bruff bruiser did his job at scrum and lineout time. We trulty won't appreciate him until he's retired.
donncha o'callaghan 7
For once had to play second fiddle to Chabal in the first half but upped the gears considerably after the break, especially in the lineout.
paul o'connell 7.5
Won the lineouts that lead to Heaslip's and O'Driscoll's tries but was quieter than normal. Will be furious with silly knock-on under the posts.
stephen ferris 6.5
Welcomed Chabal to Croker with a smashing hit in the opening five minutes and did all the donkey work that was asked of him.
david wallace 7
For once he was over-shadowed by his back-row colleague Jamie Heaslip but still more than gave his all for the full 80 minutes.
jamie heaslip 9
Has there been a better Irish try scored in Croke Park? Totally committed, always looking to create an opening. Best game for Ireland. Lions selectors please copy.

First action was to look on in awe as Medard raced by him to score a try.
Gordon D'Arcy 7
Back in the international fold and back on the scoreboard with a well taken try. Will be pushing for a staring spot next time out.
