Heiress Jasmine Guinness would love to open a Dublin branch of her trendy London toy shop Honeyjam but that pesky nuisance, the economic downturn, is getting in the way.

Purveyors of old-fashioned toys, the shop has been doing brisk business on London's Portobello Road for the past two years.

"We sell toys other people don't sell. Old-fashioned stuff like beautiful tin robots. The idea is to keep the plastic to a minimum," says former catwalk model Jasmine.

"I'd love to open a
branch in Dublin but at
the moment we don't
want to overstretch ourselves."

Growing up in Leixlip, Co Kildare, Jasmine remembers trips to her local toy shop Tuthills.

Catwalk model turned fashion designer, Jasmine (32) was in Dublin last week to promote the Guinness Signature Event, which hopes to raise €2.5m for young entrepreneurs in Ireland.

Maybe one of them will open a toyshop...
