Asylum seekers get better treatment than our old and infirm elderly irish population who contributed to the Irish Nation during their working lives

I bet if these asylum seekers were told they were granted asylum and citizenship and were to go to Hatch Hall you couldn't stop the stampede. It's only in this country the person seeking protection can tell the State what way they should be treated.

The decision is cost saving measure, as the Irish citizens have to put up with tax rises, cuts in welfare, health and education spending why should these people not be expected to assume some of the burden? Oh I forgot these are the 'new' Irish so they are treated differently !!!

Send them back to their own country if they are unhappy here. Our hospitals are in a dreadful condition and our old and infirm who have worked and contributed all their lives are lying on trolleys in A&E. We can no longer subsidise people who are obviously not genuine asylum seekers or they would be delighted to be spared torture and abuse in their own country.

@Sean, where are your taxes going to at the minute. They are going to bail out the Developers, Bankers and so on and so forth, only a small amount of My taxes and your taxes go to these poor people who had to flee their own Country for fear of Persecution. Have you lot not got a heart at all, you are a bunch of old moaning cronies, do you ever listen to yourselves, a bunch of moaners. What harm have these people done to you, NONE, you just want to moan for the sake of moaning. MOAN, MOAN and then MOAN some more. Have you ever heard of being a good Christian? or would all of the above be the first in line to throw the first stone? By the sounds of it yes. It would suit you better if you used your energy in trying to help them instead of being a begrudger. It is easy to be a begrudger but why, when you could be nice and understanding. How would you like it if someone just moved you on after making an area your home for years. No mater how you answer, I know you would not like it. Ireland used to be the land of welcomes but not any more by the looks of things. I do not apologize if I insulted you, as you find it so easy to insult these people by your remarks. Do you some how think you are superior as a human being, do you think they are less worth of a happy life than you. Just in case you do, let me tell you you are not. Wake up and see the hardship of others.

Do the Liberal/Lefty, PC Brigade mob, who are fomenting these protests, not realise that the economy is practically bankrupt.
Private sector workers, public sector workers and those on social welfare are all on reduced incomes.
Unless we reduce government spending and reverse this culture of entitlement, there will be nothing for anybody in this country.

You're a big macho man, typical alfa male, your chest must be swelling by the second. Have you ever done anything nice for anyone? I was lucky enough to have been brought up in the Country side a farmers daughter, two wonderful parents and they taught to have empathy. During my life time growing up in this wonderful kind home we had lots of neighbours that lived far off the main road and in very lonely places and when all family members died but one, the one that was left alone was afraid and unhappy. During my life time we gave a home to four of my neighbours, they were no longer alone and lived the rest of their lives being looked after, cared for and as happy as they had ever been. My family and I loved bringing happiness into these peoples lives, I guess when you are reared with goodness and kindness all around you it is something that is passed on from mother to child, so you see I can not help my good nature and I am proud to pass it on to my child. I would be more than happy to have these people come live with me and look after them. These people do not want to live with me. They are not alone they have each other, they are one big family and they have lived in this area since they came here and by their own admission it is home. It is an unkind and undignified thing to do to just separate them without any decent notice, you can not just treat these people like animals. They deserve respect as human beings, the basic thing we all expect in life, some control of our own lives. Apart from everything else, who owns this place, is he a close friend of any member of the Government? does he stand to gain a lot of money from this contract with the state? apart from the human side of this, is their an ulterier motive for this move? who stands to gain? it is hard to believe that the Government are moving them because they care so much about them.
