Anti-government protestors have lifted their siege of Bangkok's two main airports today following yesterday's court judgement disbanding the main ruling parties. The People's Alliance for Democracy took over the airports last week in the culmination of six months of daily protests against the Government. They accused the last two Prime Ministers of being puppets for Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted from the position in a military coup two years ago and has since been convicted of corruption. Tens of thousands of foreign tourists were left stranded when the demonstrators took over the airports. Yesterday, the Thai Constitutional Court ordered the three main ruling parties to disband as punishment for electoral fraud and banned Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from politics for five years. The three parties have already reconstituted themselves under different guises and say they plan to form a new government and appoint a new prime minister. The protestors, however, have warned that they will return to the streets if there is any return to the policies of the previous administration.
