US President George W Bush is continuing to defend the war against Iraq as he nears the end of his farewell tour of Europe. During an interview in Britain yesterday, Mr Bush said he was "sorry" that innocent civilians had been killed in the war. However, he insisted he had done "the right thing" by overthrowing President Saddam Hussein and that Iraq was now on the road to peace. He also claimed the US had routed al-Qa'ida in Afghanistan and Iraq, but admitted that the organisation is still dangerous.
