Approximately 2,000 people have turned out in Dublin to mark the anniversary of the 1916 Rising. Over 300 members of the Defence Forces, including two military bands, have honoured those who fought in the Easter Rising 93 years ago. A wreath was laid outside the GPO by President Mary McAleese, watched by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen and other dignitaries. The end of the ceremony was marked with a fly past by the Air Corps.
