A strike by over 10,000 electricians is to go ahead on Monday after talks at Labour Relations Commission failed. The Technical Engineering and Electrical Union has served strike notice on behalf of its members in the electrical contracting industry. If it goes ahead the strike could significantly affect the energy, manufacturing, construction, aviation and other sectors of the economy. The TEEU says its members are long overdue a pay increase of more than 11%. If the action goes ahead it's believed major projects like the Lansdowne Road Stadium and Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport will be affected.
