Pop star Michael Jackson has died after collapsing at his home yesterday following a suspected heart attack. The 50-year-old singer was rushed to hospital in LA, but efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 2.26pm local time. His brother told reporters that Jackson was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest, but an autopsy would be carried out to determine the exact cause of death. The self-styled King of Pop, who had a string of hits spanning three decades, was planning 50 farewell concerts in London this summer. His musical career began at the age of five, when he thrilled audiences with his singing talent and dance moves as a member of the Jackson Five. His 1982 album Thriller became the biggest-selling album of all time, featuring a series of stand-out hits like Beat It, Billie Jean and the title track.
