Police in Bangladeshi police today arrested the suspected ringleader of the border guard mutiny that left at least 69 dead. A spokesman said officers arrested the man and five others during a raid in a Dhaka slum. The alleged ringleader, Syed Tauhidul Alam, and the other suspects have been paraded before the media but were not allowed to speak. Authorities are still searching for more than 1,000 border guards who have been charged with murder.
