Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said the impact on the public of next month's supplementary Budget will be uppermost in his thoughts when tax-generating measures are announced. Mr Cowen confirmed to the Dáil today that plans to cut public spending and increase taxation will be published in early April to plug the loss of €2 billion in revenue income for the year so far. He said the after-effects of imposing budgetary measures would ultimately determine where cuts were made.
