An Irish woman is in a serious condition in hospital following a shooting in Lanzarote. The 25-year-old Limerick woman was shot in the stomach by her 45-year-old Spanish-born partner before turning the gun on himself in the village of Mancha Blanca. Both were taken to hospital in Lanzarote before being airlifted to the main hospital in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, where both are said to be in a serious condition. Spanish police are treating the incident as a case of domestic violence. A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs says they are providing assistance to an Irish family following the shooting of a woman in Lanzarote.
