At least 12 people have been killed and dozens more injured in a car bomb explosion outside the Indian Embassy in Kabul this morning. The blast went off as commuters were arriving to work in the busy centre of the Afghan capital. Officials say the explosion happened shortly after 8.30am on a shop-lined road between the Indian Embassy and the offices of the Interior Ministry. India's Foreign Secretary says the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who drove up to the outer wall of the Indian Embassy before detonated his explosives. Three Indian soldiers who were on guard at the facility were injured by shrapnel, while members of the Afghan security forces were also hurt in the blast.
