A court in Switzerland has again denied bail to Oscar-winning film director Roman Polanski on the grounds that there is a high risk he could flee the country. The 76-year-old has been in custody in Switzerland since being arrested on September 26th on foot of an outstanding US arrest warrant. Polanski fled the US in 1978 to escape a prison sentence after he admitted having sex with a 13-year-old girl. He moved to France, where he was protected from extradition due to his French citizenship. He was arrested in Switzerland last month after travelling to Zurich to collect a film award.
