Revenue officers have discovered a Chihuahua hidden in a holdall bag at Dublin Airport. The dog had been placed in a small cage inside the bag and carried onboard a plane by a male passenger. It had been smuggled from Bulgaria to Madrid in Spain and then on to Dublin. When Customs officers examined the luggage at Dublin Airport this afternoon the image of a dog in a small cage appeared on the X-ray screen. The dog has now been handed over to officials from the Department of Agriculture and Food and is currently in quarantine. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
