The Dublin County Coroner is to hold a public inquest into the death of Tipperary man Michael Dwyer who was shot dead by Special Forces in Bolivia last April. Bolivian authorities claimed that he was involved in a plot to assassinate the country's president Evo Morales. They said he was shot six times along with three other men in a hotel room in Santa Cruz. However, an Irish newspaper later reported he died from a single gunshot wound. The Dublin country coroner is to hold the inquest on October 13th. It is understood that Gardaí have made a request through Interpol for the Bolivian authorities to assist the inquiry. Mr Dwyer's family have welcomed the inquest.
