Cavan bantamweight John Joe Nevin has guaranteed Ireland an historic sixth medal at World Amateur Championships level. The Beijing Olympian came from behind in his quarter-final against China's Yu Gu in Milan this afternoon, to win the bout 7-5. It means he'll be taking home at least a bronze when he faces Russian Eduard Abzalimov in the semis on Friday. The other two remaining Irish competitors, Willie McLaughlin and team captain Kenny Egan, will be in action later this evening in Italy.
