Twins Simon and Christian Stokes: a receiver has been appointed to members' club Residence

Bang Café, the Dublin restaurant that sank into liquidation last week, owes its creditors nearly €2.4m.

Run by twins Simon and Christian Stokes, the restaurant was located on Merrion Row near their other troubled venture, the private members' club Residence.

The statement of affairs for Mayfair Properties, the company behind Bang, shows unsecured creditors are owed €665,782, while the Revenue Commissioners are owed €420,199.

Zarament, a company owned by property developer Bernard McNamara, is owed €550,000, while Mayfair owes its banks a further €573,866.

A receiver was appointed to Residence last week after it failed to convince the High Court to give it protection from creditors. The building is owned by Johnny Ronan of Treasury Holdings and prior to opening, Christian Stokes said that ''although the rent was €150,000, (Ronan) increased it to €225,000 when he heard what we were doing".
