Cork-based developer Howard Holdings is trying to renew scheduled flights from Coventry airport, which it is currently trying to sell, with a view to flights commencing service next year.
The airport is currently only serving as a flying school and a private-jet airport after the High Court in Britain ruled that a new terminal could not be built there.
The 385 acre site is said to not be viable for commercial or housing development because the council's lease means it would share development profits with Howard.
