Developer Sean Kelly's Canal Harbour Development Company has applied for an 84-bed hotel as part of a planning permission to develop a scheme of up to 12 storeys near the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin 8. The plan provides for the demolition of most of the existing structures and the construction of six buildings ranging in height from three to 12 storeys on a 3.25 acre site at Grand Canal Place off James' Street. Kelly has sought a 10-year planning permission for the scheme that is to include offices, the 84-room 'aparthotel', residential units, shops, a café and a medical centre.
