Horse Racing Ireland has issued a tender notice for a worldwide advertising contract despite moves by other state bodies to reduce spending on promotion.
The body, which is responsible for marketing Ireland's lucrative thoroughbred industry, is seeking tenders from companies willing to provide advertising services to support its overseas marketing campaign. The successful company will be required to provide campaign strategies and ad production; media space purchasing in international bloodstock publications with minimal spend on the domestic market; quick turnarounds to take advantage of successful Irish breeds; and source photography from domestic and international races. Interested parties have until 1 October to submit expressions of interest.
The contract is likely to be worth a significant amount given that the Irish thoroughbred industry contributes an estimated €400m to the economy annually.
