The Institute of Professional Selling (IPS) was officially launched by education minister Batt O'Keeffe last week. The aim of the institute is to promote professionalism in selling through education, representation and services designed to raise standards of the profession of sales. The IPS has established a suite of academic qualifications at higher level, with a defined route on to masters level at other third level institutions.
As a member of the retail community, I commend Pat Meehan and co. who set up this institute; it is long awaited and should help to improve sales in an economy which desperately needs it.
I hope they do well and it would be great to see the Institute provide courses nationwide in the future.
