Green Property, the development company chaired by Stephen Vernon, will be one of the beneficiaries of the sale of part of Goldman Sachs' headquarters in London. The building was put up for sale last week, with an asking price of about €370m, by Warren Private Clients. Other investors are said to include Larry Goodman, Jim Flavin and Eugene Murtagh.
Green last week announced it has formed a joint venture with private investment company TPG Capital to invest up to €900m of debt and equity in property in Britain and Ireland. TPG's current and former investments include Burger King, Debenhams, Harrah's Entertainment and upmarket department chain Neiman Marcus.
Green TPG Partners, as the new venture is known, will seek to join with government agencies and financial institutions to help manage their exposure to the property sector, seeking to use its experience to turn around underperforming assets.
