CENTRAL Bank governor Patrick Honohan will tomorrow submit his report on the response of the bank and the Financial Regulator to the banking crisis to the Department of Finance tomorrow.

The former TCD professor has been probing the performance of the two institutions since the establishment of the Financial Regulator at the end of September 2008.

"In addition, I have been asked to consider the inclusion of any matter that I feel should be brought to the minister's attention which might help or inform the preparation of the terms of reference of the statutory inquiry," Honohan told the Dáil earlier this year.

Two independent experts, former International Monetary Fund executives Klaus Regling and Max Watson, are carrying out a separate inquiry into the causes of the crash. Their report is also due to be wrapped up tomorrow

The government has yet to set a publication date for the reports, the findings of which will form the basis of a commission of inquiry that will begin its work in June.
