Leinster club shc final

Ballyhale Shamrocks (Kilkenny) v Birr (Offaly)

Nowlan Park, Kilkenny, 2.00

The third part in as many seasons of a relationship that has yet to pall. In terms of preparations Birr have had the better of it, producing a commanding performance against Ballyboden St Enda's and getting a good blowout against St Martin's, whereas Shamrocks struggled to put away James Stephens in their own county final. But last year's All Ireland champions have their two All Stars – missing 12 months ago - back. If they can't win in those circumstances they have no business going any farther.

Adare (Limerick) v De La Salle (Waterford)

Semple Stadium, Thurles, 2.00

Live, TG4, 1.30

A tús maith which saw them lead Toomevara by eight points at the break was more than half the work for Adare in the semi-final. Wayne McNamara, Conor Fitzgerald and Donncha Sheehan would grace any club team in the country, and Mark Foley continues to grace an intercounty team. All that said, De La Salle have shown of late that they can win regardless of the underfoot conditions.
