THE British-owned supermarket Tesco Ireland, has refused to stock any of the one million postcards which are aimed at closing the controversial plant at Sellafield in Cumbria.

The postcards are addressed to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Prince of Wales and British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. The highprofile campaign is spearheaded by Bono's wife, Ali Hewson, and is understood to be the largest of its kind ever launched in Ireland.

Dunnes Stores and Superquinn, along with other retailers across the country, have agreed to sell the postcards.
