Clare made sure of a Division 2 NHL final spot when they had seven points to spare over Westmeath at Cusack Park, Ennis. In a high scoring game the Banner lead by 3-12 to 1-6 at the break but allowed a spirited Westmeath back into the game in the second period.

St Kierans bagged 1-5 without reply in the closing nine minutes, as they claimed their 17th Croke Cup title. The sides were level at 0-5 to 1-2 at half-time, and although goals from Brendan O'Connor and John Fitzgibbon pushed Ardscoil Rís ahead, St Kieran's claimed victory late on.
