The ISPCC says it is still unable to answer more than one-third of the calls to its Childline services due to a lack of resources. The organisation says the number of calls from children seeking help increased by 26,000 last year. However, Childline staff can only answer around 60% of calls. The ISPCC is calling for a 24-hour child protection service as around 80% of the calls to Childline are out-of-hours.
