A teenage gunman dressed in combat gear has killed at least 11 people, most of them pupils, at a school in Germany today. The police say several others were injured in the shooting at the Albertville technical high school in Winnenden, near Stuttgart. The 17-year-old gunman, a former pupil at the school, opened fire at random at around 9.30am before fleeing the scene. Some reports say he was later shot dead by the police, but other media say the police are still hunting for him. The German media say the gunman was from the nearby village of Leutenback and his parents had permits to legally hold 18 weapons.
