Hotels continue to face major trading difficulties according to new research from CBRE. Its bi-monthly report points out that revenue per room – the key indicator of the health of the hotels sector – was down 10.6% in Dublin year-on-year, according to City Occupancy. The trend is mirrored across the country, as it declined by 5% in Galway, 5.7% in Cork, 9.1% in Waterford and 9.4% in Limerick. Average revenue per room is now less than €55 a night according to STR Global.
