SPREAD betting firm MarketSpreads says it is now open for 24-hour trading to allow its clients access to global markets.

The Dublin company, formed through a management buyout of the Irish operations of the quoted WorldSpreads Group, said its trading desks will now be open for clients from Sunday nights to Friday nights.

"Trading has been very active this year with our second-highest day ever earlier this month for volume of trades in ten years in business here," chief executive Brian O'Neill said. "The 24-hour trading service gives them added opportunity and the security of being able to manage positions at any time that markets are open around the world."

O'Neill bought the business December for €11m.
