We've been long-time fans of the French fragrance company Diptyque both for their excellent scented candles and for their perfumes. Their latest fragrance l'Eau de Tarocco (€80) is being hailed as sublime by beauty editors and it is. The company creative director based it on a traditional dish of thinly sliced orange sprinkled with rose water, cinnamon and saffron that he ate in Morocco. Also worth checking out is their body care range, launched last month. Inspired by destinations ranging from Florence to Byzantium, it includes five different products, with five different scents. Especially lovely is the oil (€56) for body and bath, which combines sweet almond, argan and macadamia oils to soften the skin. Available at Brown Thomas.
All hail the t-shirt dress. It's your summer look in one garment and will work with leggings or jeans, or just thrown over your bikini poolside. There are plenty of nice ones on the high street but if you'd like something edgier, head to the www.pretaportobello.com website which sells fashion and accessories from the famous Portobello Road and other London markets. Some labels like Dahlia and Orion might be familiar to you already but there are plenty of new discoveries to make like Lamis Khamis who also do red and grey versions of this winged print dress. £28 and delivery to Ireland is £10.
To inject some summer fun into your wardrobe, you can't go far wrong with a straw or raffia bag and the more vintage looking the better. You can trawl through charity shops or alternatively you could pick up this fan shaped clutch, €25, from Dorothy Perkins.
This weekend sees garden extravaganza, Bloom, taking place in the Phoenix Park. If you weren't able to make it and you're in need of some green-fingered inspiration, check out these coloured, glass tea light holders from Carraig Donn. They're only €1 each and will look stunning arranged on branches. Visit www.carraigdonn.com for stores.
