Kathryn Thomas

Wow, I haven't heard that one in a while...

What?

"Heaven knows, no frontiers, and I've seen heaven in your eyes..."

Okay, stop, that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about the RTé travel show No Frontiers.

Oh right. Why? What's going on?

RTé has decided to axe the show after 13 years.

No way! But sure, that was our only real travel show, and something on RTé that was actually pretty decent?

Which is why it cost so much to make, and which is why due to ongoing cutbacks at the state broadcaster, it won't be back on our screens next year.

So no more Glenda randomly swanning about in her bikini, no more Ryan Tubridy on a Segway?

Yes, and more importantly no more Kathryn Thomas.

In fairness, RTé can't really be asking people to take pay cuts when they're paying for someone to feck off on holliers, right?

Well, Thomas is a reknowned hard worker, although the schedule for her and guests for the most recent series included Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Cuba, Thailand, San Francisco...

Okay, I get it, pricey. What for Thomas now?

Luckily for her, she has another gig in RTé hosting Winning Streak and recently filled in for Ryan Tubridy on his radio show. The reality of her being on home soil for more than five minutes will probably be of benefit in career-building terms.

So heaven knows No Frontiers?

Well, it's in TV heaven now.
