There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the definition of this season's neutral palette, seen here in a pic from fashion website Rare's new 'Opulence' collection. Stemming from Michelle Obama state visit to meet the Indian prime minister last November (she was wearing a peachy-pink dress that was described in the press as 'flesh tone' and 'nude'), the American fashion world went into a frenzied debate about whether this should be classified as a racist term. In the end it was argued that 'black', 'blush' and 'ivory' are all used to describe fabric (and not skin). So back to this season's shade de jour. We think it's feminine, pretty and just a little bit indulgent. Wear with a little jewellery and a lot of black eyeliner and let your glossy limbs do all the talking. To order from the 'Opulence' collection (this dress is €120) see www.rarefashion.co.uk
These vertiginous honeys from LK Bennett are about as perfect as wedge-wear gets – the added bonus being that they'll add at least three inches to your height. Great with this summer's wide-legged sailor pants for that laidback 'walking-onto-a-yacht' look. They are €205 from LK Bennett at Brown Thomas, Dundrum, and Arnotts.
It's all about utility chic this season and this canvas-strapped number by Betty Jackson at Debenhams ticks all the boxes. Wear it over the shoulder with anything from cropped trousers to a tube skirt. €63, Betty Jackson at Debenhams
* From the latest kate moss at topshop to the French Connection 'vintage collection' (all the greats from the past 20 years are being re-worked for today), the high street is teeming with delights this week. We've spied this lace jacket from Karen Millen, which was an instant sell-out and is now back due to popular demand. It's €250 and really quite lovely.
* Travelling anywhere fabulous this summer? Well you'll definitely feel the part with a piece from the ultra-luxurious but not too expensive Gogovoyage range of luggage. It's available at Clontarf boutique, Diffusion, dog not included. Bag pictured is €329.
* How desperate are you to see the new sex and the city movie? Satisfy your curiosity while raising money for Autism Ireland at a special screening organised by Serendipity Kids in Ranelagh on Tuesday. Two hundred tickets at €50 each are on sale for the event, which will start with a reception at Harvey Nichols café before the screening at Dundrum cinema. Goody bags for all attendees. For last-minute bookings phone Kate on 087 278 0177.
