
What did you have for breakfast today?
Muesli, orange juice and a cod liver oil tablet – much improved on the early days when it was last night's leftover pizza and beer.
If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
Just where I am, here with my wife and kids.
What is your comfort food?
Has to be Indian –a karahi lamb curry, pilau rice and naan break to soak it up.
What website do you look at most?
Saatchi & Saatchi, David LaChapelle, plus the odd music site.
How often do you exercise?
Twice a week, mountain biking. You lose yourself in the adrenalin rush.
What do you watch on TV?
Sky Arts, the Discovery Channel, and anything on the universe and astronomy.
What Irish person do you most admire?
Too hard to name someone. But if I have to it would be Adi Roche and people who give up their time to do good.
What Irish person do you least admire?
I don't waste my time with all that negative stuff.
How punctual are you?
Very. You have to be considerate about other people's time as well as your own.
What do you most like about yourself?
Because I'm an artist, I am always observing people's faces, their expressions, and how I should react. I think I'm quite compassionate, there to give a shoulder to cry on.
What word or phrase do you overuse?
Bang – and the dirt will be gone.
What was the last text you sent?
I'm not a texting fan as they are so abrupt. The tone can come across differently to what you intended.
What radio station do you listen to?
RTÉ Radio One, especially Pat Kenny, then Liveline.
Are you good with credit cards?
Very very good. I always pay it off every month and remember my father's words: "live within your means, not over them".
What was your best holiday?
My exhibition in Los Angeles – it was the first time our entire family had gone on holiday together. And it was really special as it was just before my mother passed away.
How long does it take you to get ready?
Ten minutes – shower, dressed, old leather jacket pulled on, in the car, engine running and waiting for my wife to find her shoes.
What is your biggest regret?
Don't do regrets. It's only a mistake if you make it twice.
What can you not live without?
My wife and two kids. Nothing else is that important.
Who was your first crush?
Cindy Crawford – I had a poster of her on my wall. But in real life – my first major crush was my wife. I crossed vast plains and climbed high mountains just to get the courage to ask her out on a date.
What do you worry about?
My wife and my kids and that I wouldn't be able to pay the mortgage.
Who did you last vote for?
I can't answer that, other than to say I will be very interested to see what happens in the next general election.
What would you do if you won the Lotto?
Pay off my mortgage – and everyone else's in our families too. Then give what's left to charity.
What time do you go to bed?
In case the burglars are reading the Tribune… let's just say that even around 4am, I'm still sitting in the rocking chair, cheroot between my teeth, shotgun in arms, ready to deter unwelcome guests…
