Regular viewers of Tubridy Tonight already know that Camembert Quartet front man Paddy Cullivan has musical talent. But they may not realise that he's an equally accomplished wordsmith. Paddy was responsible for putting words in presenter Tubridy's mouth – literally – at the recent Iftas, penning all of Ryan's quips.

"Ryan recommended me for the Ifta job because I know the rhythm of his speech from working with him on Tubridy Tonight," says Paddy. He also wrote the links for other presenters on the night, including President Mary McAleese, although one decided to go off message. "Shane Ritchie used none of my stuff and just went off on one," he says. So what next for the 35-year old band leader? He'd like to become Ireland's answer to Jon Stewart of the hugely successful satirical US export, The Daily Show.

"Being an Irish version of The Daily Show, it would probably end up weekly," he laughs. "I would like to do a live show. There are a million people doing impersonations but what's required are people saying satirical things about what's actually going on."
