Insolvency practitioners will no longer be able to take over pub licences in their own names following a crackdown by the Revenue. The paucity of buyers has been forcing receivers and liquidators to take out pub licences in their own name and continue to operate premises until a sale can be agreed. In a statement issued to Insolvencyjournal.ie the Revenue said they have the power to renew a licence only in the name of the last licence-holder.
