The obvious items to sex up a cape are a belted knit, wet-look skinnies and peep-toe booties – the perfect way to escape the '50s cliche. A messy tousled mane and barely-there make-up keep it Dries Van Noten-grunge and bang up to date.
Get the Love Story feel in a longer, more collegiate version of the cape, and wear with knee-high boots, a poloneck and culottes. Love the '70s checked lining and pom-poms on this French Connection caped crusader.
River Island teams this dove-blue cape with camels and browns for an everyday, wholesome, let's-go-for-a-walk-in-the-countryside style. The hiking look in fashion is really taking off this season and there is a nod to it here in the youth hostel Aran knit and corduroy brown shorts.
Keep it goth in all-black skinnies and wedges. There's a Don't Look Now mood in the styling of this look, which is part Twilight, part 'Little Red Riding Hood' all grown up and crossed to the dark side. Spooky. Just don't try this at Halloween.

Dear Sirs
I love this editorial but can you get me more details on the cape from ASOS as I cannot find it on their website?
Many thanks
