High-rise mid-rifts and super-stretch sweats are given the glam factor with a draped blazer like this one from Alexander Wang. He is the designer credited for turning the humble grey sweatpant luxe. The crop-sleeve sweat is by Irish up-and-coming designer, JW Anderson. His label is new to asos and definitely one to watch for the new decade.
A figure-hugging maxi looks great with a slouchier shape on top and the high heel of these hiker boots keep the look from being too stay-home. Irish designer Lucy Downes is well-known for her luxurious designs (she also designs for DKNY) and we love this cashmere sweat which would also look very cool worn with anything from a silk dress to jodhpurs.
The secret to looking good in slouch gear has got to be in the cut of the jeans and if you haven't invested in denims for a few seasons, the sales are the time to go out and do it. Try to aim for a premium brand – the denim collection from the Reiss 1971 collection pictured here was a big hit this season for a reason – it does fit well.
Who would have thought the humble parka would still be going for yet another season but when it snows, sleets and rains, there really is no better winter cover-up. The hint of a shirt dresses it up a bit. Add some lace-ups and you're good to go!
